San Pedro

Travelling on the road has shown me a lot of things, mostly that you can never expect anything out of life. So imagine my surprise when I meet someone while playing guitar that has a house that we can use not to mention an RV in San Mendocino and on top of that some work for me and werk for my friends. Now I am in San Pedro for a week working  on a mural for a newfound friend who is decking the place out for his mother to live in. Since then ive been busking and getting $20 dollar kick-downs, eating shrimp for free at the Port O’Call and kicking it with very interesting people.

But lets start our blog a bit earlier in Ocean Beach. I went there a few nights ago and kicked it with the street kids, busking for some gas and a few bottles of Admiral Nelsons. OB is a pretty cool part of San Diego, and I would love to go back. There I was able to meet some beautiful souls and jam out and talk about dreams of an artist’s camp where we could just come and make something beautiful. I wish to meet these kids again, and was very much sure to get their numbers and to keep contact, not to mention a beautiful girl who reminds me of Erykah Badu and who I could very much fall in love with. But lets hold that off for another time, for now im here to enjoy the road J.

So my travels took me to Los Angeles, where we lost a companion Bobbi and met a wingnut named Time Master who taught us an interesting song, “Superpimps.” He also took us to the Laurel Cavern Tree House where we kicked it for a night. Some of the musical greats such as Jimi Hendrix, Joan Baez and Janis Joplin played there, and me and my crew stayed there. I also met an incredible musician named Five, who I vibed with on another beautiful musical level. I definitely hope to meet him again and make some more beautiful music out on his boat. After the little adventure in Hollywood we ran down to San Pedro to see a friend’s home town. We kicked it around for a while seeing the sights of this little city, and just yesterday (after my friend rolled 3 wins in Craps and deemed the day to be a great day) we find the right person at the right time busking outside of Target who has a heart of gold and plenty of work lined up for willing travelers. So until we whip this house into shape we will be doing beautiful things in and around Los Angeles. I hope to be able to find a clay shop and some time to make more bowls and hats to sell or trade on my adventure. But until then I shall be traveling on and seeing just what life holds around the corner…

San Diego

So now im chilling in San Diego, California, and its a lovely sunny day, perfect weather, and im sitting in a Starbucks enjoying free internet and AC. Not that id need it, if they had a patio i would be outside :D. So, you ask, how did i make it to this very moment in space and time?

Well i should first start off what i left out last post, and that was Bourbon Street in New Orleans. At night that place is party chaos. There are no cars on the street for the streets are filled with the drunken and inebriated, plus the occasional cops on horseback. The people and the streets are littered with half empty cups of booze and glittering beads. The streets hum with a roar of people out to have a good time. If you like to party, you will love to take a stroll down Bourbon on a Friday night. If any of you kandi kids want beads for free, check it out. I literally got like two pounds of beads (if not more). And its a shame, cause there are slim to none Kandi Kids out there. However, on Bourbon Street i did have the lucky chance to find a guy playing electro house from his boombox and i took the time to rage it out on the street, lights in my hand and all.

So the morning after we rise and head for our trip to California. We ended up not being able to wait for the van due to various bojangling and time constraints. We travelled from the bayou's of Louisiana to the muggy Mississippi and Arkansas, throgh the outstretched plains of Oklahoma, through the hot and empty tip of Texas and the deserts of New Mexico and Arizona until we finally made it to California. I wish the road was as easy as to be contained in a sentence, but life is rough and gas is expensive. So ive been hired into the career of Sphanging and Busking. So we eventually made it to the West Coast in 3 days and now we are staying in San Diego for now. I hope to go up to Los Angeles, and we shall see how the road treats me up there. But let me just tell you for now, the west coast is the best coast. So far i havent gotten a ticket or harassed by the police for busking, and ive had food every single day ive been down here. Not too bad for a traveller, hmm??

New Orleans

So im sorry its taken so long to respond, it seems as if the interwebs is hard to find on the road :( But now that im behind a keyboard (and hopefully internet explorer wont crash on me again) its time to update my travels to the city of New Orleans

My trip down the road ran through Johnson City, Tennessee. I and another member of the party, Sunshine the Pixie, left from Mineral, VA with the wind at our backs and a chill stop in Lynchburg, VA with our beautiful soul of a friend Cody. So we made it down the road to Johnson City, TN to chill with some friends of Sunshines, Savannah, Benny and Justin. Out in Johnson City there is a lot of clay, and i may have to build an Anagrama kiln among other things out that way.

So on we were, travelling through Georgia, Alabama, and Mississippi to the state of New Orleans to the dark mystical city of New Orleans to meet up with two members of our party. Reighn the Privateer and Bobbi the Rogue. This city has a mystical feel to it, much like the feel of Moulin Rouge, but there is no Ewan Mcgregor or Nicole Kidman. But the presence of carnivale in a porland city runs through the streets, intermixed with the pastel colors of the opulent buildings of the french quarter. The city hums with a vibrant carousel of creole and blues, like the dark port world of Old Orleans. Unfortunately there is no raver scene here, And for that i feel slightly out of place. But there is a drifter community, the late night streets are roamed by them, shared also with the sultry ladies of the smoky night and the rough tough frontiersman travellers about the night. The night air is filled with music, however this does not prove to be beneficial for the busker or sphanger. But the bars are open all night and the liquor stores never close. I have never seen her during the day, however, but even the houses have a lively pastel colored opulence that feels like carnival. Today i plan to roam through the catacombs and visit Madame Laveau. Tonight, we shall see the Frenchman's Quarter enveloped in the friday nightlife, a mystical night to be romaing through Bourbon St. and Frenchman St. Tomorrow, i shall be gone, so until then i shall live life as the New Orleansians do. I have learned some life lessons to live by as well. Firstly, nothing is ever really "yours" or "mine" in a sense, for everything will eventually be left behind to fade away. Attachment to possesional things is an illusion in this world, and who is to say what you truly own when the world is ended. Keep that in mind when bad circumstances and unfortunate losses do happen, and in the end youll see that everything is yours when nothing at all is. You just have to know how to access it and learn to let go to recieve in the end. Although im sure thats one of many lessons im destined to learn along the way. So, until the wind blows me away again, This is Lupescuro from New Orleans.

First Day Out

So today is the first day of the journey and the first day of the rest of my life. I have already began my journey by meeting cool peole and kicking it with others, and even learned that i have to let some things go, and if its meant to be then it will return. But i am excited to see what else this journey shall have in store for me. The next stop on my journey will be New Orleans, Louisiana but for tonight i shall be kicking it with cool peoples in Lynchburg VA but tomorrow who knows :)
